How to use the calculator

A full-expression scientific calculator with memory and tax shortcuts — then convert the answer into any unit in one tap.

⏱ 2 min read🧰 Tool: Calculator (Free)💡 Level: Beginner

The calculator does the math and then hands the result straight to the converter — so ‘work it out, then convert it’ is a single flow.

1

Type an expression

Open Calculator and type a full expression — for example 12 * 8. The running result shows live below (= 96), with the current unit context, so you can see the answer before you hit equals.

2

Use scientific functions and memory

Switch to Scientific for trig, logs and powers (toggle DEG/RAD), and use the memory keys — MC, MR, M+, M− — plus shortcuts like + Tax, − 10%, ½ and ×2.

3

Convert the answer in one tap

This is the trick that sets it apart: once you have a result, convert it into any unit in one tap — the answer flows straight into the converter, and lands in your Recent list.

Use-case example

Pricing a material order. A tiler multiplies 12 * 8 to get 96 ft², taps + Tax to add sales tax, then converts the area to m² in one tap to match a supplier’s metric quote — all without leaving the calculator.

Pro tip

After any calculation, tap convert to send the result into the unit converter — no re-typing the number.
