How to read the Markets tool

A live snapshot of gold, the crypto market, FX and sentiment — with an honest line between live data and reference-only listings.

⏱ 2 min read🧰 Tool: Markets💡 Level: Beginner

Markets gives you a fast pulse on gold, crypto and sentiment. Crucially, it never invents prices it cannot source live — reference data is labelled as such.

1

Open Markets for a live snapshot

Choose Markets from the sidebar. You get a live snapshot of gold spot price, the total crypto market cap, FX and crypto sentiment — for example, gold at $3,972.90 per troy ounce, with a per-gram figure too.

Open Markets for a live snapshot
Gold, FX and crypto sentiment update live; indices, stocks, commodities and bonds are shown as reference.
2

Watch movers and the Fear & Greed index

Scroll for top movers, trending coins, forex and the Fear & Greed index — a quick read on market sentiment. Live items carry a ‘LIVE’ tag and an updated timestamp; use Refresh or Auto 1m to keep them current.

3

Read reference-only data honestly

Stock indices, individual stocks, commodities and bond yields are shown as names/reference only — no fabricated prices — because live quotes for those need a paid market-data provider. The tool is transparent about what is live versus reference.

Use-case example

A quick morning check. Devin opens Markets before work: gold is $3,972.90/oz, the crypto market cap and 24h volume are up, and the Fear & Greed index reads ‘greed’. He gets the gist in ten seconds, knowing the indices below are reference names, not live quotes.

Pro tip

Use the Fear & Greed index as a sentiment gut-check, not a signal — pair it with the live gold and crypto figures for context.
